We Must...Live
Do you remember your first trip to Disneyworld as a kid, or maybe the first time that you saw the ocean? Remember how excited you were to live, to experience new adventures and how even the smallest new thing was always...always the best thing? And then we grew up. We started taking life and new experiences for granted and we stopped living life with the gusto of our ten year old selves.
Unless you are my husband...
He is kind of incredible in that he still has that childlike enthusiasm for life and new adventures. It's one of the qualities that I love the most about him. Canean is always up for anything, soaking up new experiences like a sponge determined to not let the world take the boy inside him away or take away pieces of the man that God created him to be...wild at heart.
It's inspiring, and if you have ever been around him for any amount of time then you know what I am talking about...you just want to be near him. His energy is magnetic and I'm dang lucky to have him in my life.
I ran across this quote from Miss Potter on my friend Holly Everett's Instagram feed the other day and I tagged Canean because I immediately thought of him. "We cannot stay home all our lives. We must present ourselves to the world and we must look upon it as an adventure."
Canean and I always remind each other to live life and to try and not just exist in the everyday. We challenge each other to get out of the comfortable day to day habits and let a little discomfort in at times. Because you GOTTA have a little discomfort in life to find the really sweet spots where magic can happen.
I'm determined for my life to be an adventure and take a cue from my husband who does it so effortlessly. Let's not disappoint our ten year old selves, let's get our enthusiasm for life back and really live.
Present yourself to the world. Life's too short not to.
