Satsuma Supper Club: Brinner DIY Decor

Last week you got the deets on all of the yummy food from the first ever Satsuma Supper Club, and this week I am so excited to share with you all of the DIY décor from the party!  Who says that dinner parties have to be costly?  We sure don't!

Carol and I wanted to ensure that everything we used for the party would be super easy for you at home to recreate and also be cost effective so that anyone can host a fabulous supper club!

We decided to go with disposable plates, napkins, utensils, glasses, and tablecloths (easy clean up...hello).  The task was to make them still feel special, so we added a touch of hand to each and voila...they were transformed into something really beautiful!

On top of that, we added easy handmade garland, lots of flowers, and details like tiny toothpick flags that said things like "yum" and "pick me".

I am going to share with you the how-to's for the champagne glasses, toothpick flags, and napkins here so make sure you head over to Carol's blog to get the how-to's for the garland, tablecloth, and plates!

CHAMPAGNE GLASSES:

First let me tell you that we bought our champagne flutes at the Dollar Tree (2 for a buck to be exact)!  What a steal right?  And with these, you actually could wash them and reuse them!  The rest is so easy!  All you need is a gold paint pen and very little artistic ability!

You will want to wash your champagne flutes and dry them thoroughly.  Then start at the top of the stem and begin dotting all around the glass concentrating the dots more heavily at the bottom.  Gradually lessen the dots as you paint to the top stopping to leave about an inch around the rim.  Don't worry you really can't mess up here!  You can always go back and add more dots to camouflage any that aren't quite right!  That's it!  Easy or what?

NAPKINS:

This one is beyond simple guys!  All you need is a gold stamp pad and the stamp of your choice!  Make sure the stamp is evenly coated with gold and then stamp away!  Take your time so that you don't smear the stamp!  Other than that, it's about as simple as it can get!  But what a difference a stamp can make to a normal white napkin right?

MINI FLAG TOOTHPICKS:

I love that the added detail and element of surprise that these little flags add!  Simply watercolor some paper, fold your paper in half, draw a flag shape and then cut out leaving the folded side uncut.  This will allow you to wrap the flag around the toothpick.  First write whatever saying you want on each flag, and then use a glue stick on the inside of the paper and then wrap around the top of the toothpick!  Stick in the food to add a little something extra!

See what I mean?  All of these things are easy enough for anyone to tackle and can be done on a budget!

Be sure to head over to Crème de la Carol for the rest of the DIY how-to's!

Happy party planning and crafting!
