Date Nights That End with Chicken Fingers

Saturday night was date night.  We haven't had an official date night in a while.  Sure we go to dinner or to see a movie and just spend time together at home.  But those kind of mini date nights are different.  Saturday night we got fixed up, went downtown and saw some live music, drank cocktails, and it all felt very romantic...including our late night snack on the way home.  Don't worry I'll tell you more about that in a minute.

We went to see Chris Knight, who is a singer songwriter and one of Canean's favorites.  If you haven't heard of him, you should definitely check him out.  The venue was the perfect setting, intimate and dark.  The only light was the spotlight over Chris Knight and his guitar.  The whole concert he played acoustically and it was amazing.

We sat in the mezzanine and snuggled (all teenager style) and drank our way through the concert.  Whiskey for him, wine for me.

And y'all can we talk about is there anything better than live music, especially when it's acoustic?

It's just so good for the soul...we soaked up every bit of the concert and our time together.

The one mistake we made we not eating a real dinner before the concert because we kinda ate a late lunch and both of us thought we didn't need dinner...who were we kidding?  It's like we forgot who we are...I mean we NEVER skip a meal, late lunch or not.

Soooo...to top off a pretty perfect evening, we swung through the drive through at our favorite local chicken finger joint and picked up some yummy goodness to take home with us.  Also before you judge us,  we rarely eat fast food, but these chicken fingers are delicious and if you are ever in Louisiana you should totally check out Raising Cane's.  The sauce makes it and you won't judge us anymore after you try them...just sayin'.

After a pretty satisfying date night, there we were, two thirty year olds sitting at the kitchen table dipping chicken fingers into a delectable sauce feeling totally satisfied with our life that we have together...simple and full of love.

And just like that we became believers of date nights that end with chicken fingers...
