Skinny Margaritas
I'll be honest, this cocktail almost didn't happen. Between moving next week and everything else going on including being exhausted, I was reallllll close to letting the ball drop on this week's Thirsty Thursday. It was between my daily nap and shooting this cocktail. But...I couldn't let you all down, so here you go, because that's how much I love you! Today I whipped you up the tastiest and easiest skinny margarita!
It's almost summer and I know most of you are watching those figures, but there is absolutely no reason that you can't still enjoy your happy hour. My three ingredient margarita is low calorie and will leave you with no guilt and on the right track with your diet.
Margaritas are my weakness and really the only time I have missed drinking during this pregnancy has been when we eat Mexican food and I can't have a refreshing, tangy, and perfectly limey margarita. But when you can't get them at a restaurant, or don't want to waste 1,200 calories you can make them at home just like this!
All you need are fresh limes, your favorite tequila, and a natural sweetener like Agave and you are set for relaxation and summertime dreaming! Speaking of which, I have the beach bug bad...I am drying to get my toes in the sand and to feel the warm sun on my skin, while reading the perfect book. (And if I wasn't pregnant, a skinny margarita in hand.)
Ingredients:
- 1/4 Cup of Fresh Lime Juice
- 1 Oz. of Silver Tequila
- 1 Tbsp. of Agave Nectar
- Salt (optional)
*You can add a little water here too if you like your margarita less tangy or strong!
Directions:
- Add all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled and well combined.
- Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and then turn upside down onto a plate with kosher salt and coat the rim of the glass with salt.
- Fill your glass with ice, and pour margarita mixture over top. Garnish with lime slices.
- Serve immediately.
Cheers to Spring officially arriving and staying on track to your summertime bodies for those beach trips just around the corner with my skinny margaritas!
