Easy Greek Rice
Greek style rice is simple, but full of flavor and turns out is super easy to make at home too. We eat rice several times a week and I love switching up the type of rice I make depending on the sort of meal I am making. One meal that I cook at home quite often is my chicken shawarma and Greek rice is a must make for a side dish. I started making this recipe at home after moving from Louisiana and when I no longer had access to our favorite Mediterranean restaurant and couldn’t find another restaurant that compared. I tested out this rice many of times before getting it just right, but finally found the perfect combo of flavors! Now my easy Greek rice is one of our favorite rice dishes and I know that you are going to love it too.
Not being able to find the same quality Mediterranean food nearby where we live has forced me to find ways to make my own at home. Greek food is one of our favorite meals and so I tend to make it at least twice a month, especially now that I have mastered the recipes. This Greek rice is my hubby’s absolute favorite rice dish and he has said that it rivals that of our favorite restaurant so you know that it is a good one!
The key here is to flavor the rice while its cooking. I do this very thing by adding garlic, lemon juice, and plenty of salt and pepper to the water for the rice to absorb while it cooks. I finish it off with a little butter, some peas, and maybe a tad bit more salt and pepper if needed, and I’m telling you that this rice is out of this world. The rice itself has so much flavor when it’s done cooking and the texture of the rice turns out amazing too.
It will quickly become your go-to rice side dish whether you are making Greek food or quite honestly, any other type of food that needs a side of rice!

2 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
2 Tbsp. Butter
1/2 Cup Frozen Peas
