Country Table: Farm to Fork

Meet Kallie and Lauren...the founders of the growing farm to fork delivery service, Country Table.  If you live in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area you might already be familiar with the services that these two ladies are providing.  If not, you need to get familiar...and I'm here to help you out a little bit!  I had the pleasure of sitting down and getting to know all about, what they are all about and I couldn't resist sharing it with you!

I am a huge fan of buying local food and creating your weekly menu based off of whatever is available for the season and the week.  You know where it came from, you are supporting local farmers, and it just tastes so much better!

Country Table is doing it right...bringing local produce, meats, fresh eggs, and even beauty products right to your doorstep, doing the hard work for you...all you have to do is eat it!

Pretty awesome!  Just look at these berries!

Kallie and Lauren started Country Table to make fresh and locally grown food more accessible for everyone.  They saw a need and met it.  Lauren grew up having a garden of her own and both gals have a passion for good food that's good for you!

It started with a trip to Austin, an idea for Baton Rouge, and it led to a farm to fork delivery service being born.  In October 2013, they made their first delivery!  Since then, the company has grown tremendously and the community is really embracing the ability to get local food delivered to their door step...and honestly who wouldn't love that?

Their goal from the start has been to introduce local food and to support farmers by making it available to a wider range of people.  To further the awareness, they are partnering with other local companies who have the same passion to grow this farm to fork movement.

Each week they have a unique bundle of what the farmer's grew that week and deliver it right to you!  They offer a customized package as well, making it super easy on you to get everything you need in one delivery!

Let me just tell you, I had a moment while I shot this produce...the baby swiss chard, the portabellas, and don't get me started on those heirloom tomatoes...it's why I love farm fresh food!

Okay, here's how it works...the week before you need your goods, you place your order by noon on that Friday and then your package arrives between the next Tuesday and Thursday of the week you need it.  That's it...pretty simple and all you have to do is cook it.  The bundle even comes with weekly recipes to try!

Kallie and Lauren go to each farm, have tested all products, and have such a passion for what they are doing.  They are committed to helping more people get better quality food and live healthier while helping to support the local farmers in the area.

If you hate going grocery shopping or simply don't have time to...let Country Table bring you  a little surprise each week filled with fresh produce to inspire your menu for the week!

Call me crazy, but I think these girls are on to something...check them out and tell a friend while you are at it!  I don't think you will regret it!
