Happy Thursday friends! One more day and we have made it to the weekend...hallelujah! My mom is in town and although I will be working quite a bit this weekend, Canean and I are going to sneak away for a much needed date night tomorrow night and I am pretty excited about a baby free night in the city. We don't live near any family so sometimes it is hard to get a free night away so we are taking full advantage of Gram being in town! My weekend plans will also involve some last minute Christmas shopping with my mama and a few of these apple cider Pimm's cups!
A Pimm's Cup is a common cocktail in Louisiana, and I actually have a recipe for the original in my cookbook, The Unexpected Cajun Kitchen, but this time I gave it a holiday twist with apple cider and bourbon! I gotta tell y'all that I am not normally a bourbon gal, but for this cocktail it pairs wonderfully with crisp apple cider and Pimm's liquor.
This cocktail would be the perfect drink to make a big pitcher of for any holiday gathering that you might have over the next few weeks! It's refreshing, full of flavor, and is a crowd pleaser for sure!
Ingredients:
2 Oz. Pimm's Liquor
2 Oz. Bourbon
1/2 Cup Apple Cider
Ginger Beer
Squeeze of Fresh Orange
Directions:
In a cocktail shaker, combine Pimm's, bourbon, apple cider, a squeeze of orange, and a few ice cubes. Shake vigorously until all is chilled well.
Pour the drink over two glasses filled with ice and top off with ginger beer.
Garnish and serve immediately.
*Recipe makes two cocktails.
This cocktail is one of my new favorites and I hope you love it too! Cheers and Happy Holidays!
