Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! It was rainy all weekend here in Texas so we did a lot of cooking and hanging out, which is fine by me because there isn't a whole lot that you can do when the weather doesn't cooperate except make delicious food! And because we spent a lot of time indoors, I spent a little time planning out my Super Bowl menu for this coming weekend also! I want a good balance of healthy versus indulgent dishes and one dish that is 100% going to be making an appearance for the big game is my easy 5-ingredient buffalo cauliflower!

It's September which means that fall is approaching quickly and football season is upon us! I headed to my local Walmart to grab ingredients for one of my favorite recipes to make when while we host friends for the big game! There is nothing better than a big bowl of soup on the stove filling the house with a delicious aroma while football is on in the background if you ask me! My salsa verde white chicken chili is going to be your new favorite game day recipe guaranteed because it's easy and a real crowd pleaser!
Some of you are really looking forward to the Superbowl for the love of the game or maybe it's your favorite team that's playing, maybe it's the commercials, or maybe if you are like me, you are just looking forward to Superbowl Sunday food. Because let's be honest here, what other time do you have an excuse to eat nachos and burgers and pizza like a man and have no one judge you? Exaccttllly. That's why I'm sharing with you my favorite top 15 recipes that I think would be perfect the big game!
I've got tacos, burgers, BLT's, pizza, fries, and chili, oh my! There is something for everyone here and you should probably just plan on making more than one of these recipes just to be safe. You don't want your guests feeling hungry and of course there will be beer consumption, which is just another excuse to eat lots of food (to coat your stomach right?)
Whatever the reason you will be tuning in, I think it's safe to say we will all be eating our favorite game day foods and these top 15 are perfect!
Have you heard of pickle chicken? Sounds a little strange maybe, unless you are an avid pickle lover like me. And if you are, then you are more intrigued than anything. I'm going to need you to trust me on this one, because it will be your new favorite way to marinate your chicken from now until forever. With football season in full swing, we get to eat as much game day food as we want and grilled pickle chicken wings with Greek yogurt ranch are delicious and a healthier alternative to your normal deep fried wing smothered in full fat dressing.
This quite possible is one of the easiest recipes that I have or will ever give you. I think I should maybe call this recipe magical pickle chicken because it kind of acts like the perfect brine and creates super moist chicken with a golden and crispy skin.
It's football time guys, and while you might be really excited about your big game tomorrow, I am all about what we are eating for the big game. I grew up in a football house, and I can't really remember a weekend that football wasn't always on TV or we were at a game. Still to this day I love nothing more than to hear the crowd roar as background noise throughout the house. It's a comfort thing for me, but what I love more is the food thing that happens during football season. Burgers, wings, dips, and things like my crock pot pulled pork sandwiches with garlic, cumin, and lime slaw.
My teams are Tennessee and LSU (which happened after I moved to Louisiana and kind of had to adopt it as my second team since Canean graduated from LSU) unless they play each other in which case I will most certainly pull for Tennessee. Good thing that only happens once every four years or something like that...
These days I could care less to sit and watch the whole football game, I really like to be in the kitchen cooking or have people over and just peep at the score ever so often instead. It's the whole experience that I love more so than having to sit and watch the game.
