Last week I headed to Warrenton, Texas for a weekend full of boot wearing days, antique shopping, and some quality time with my mama. It's a tradition that I meet her there twice a year, once in the Spring, and once in the Fall and it's so much fun! If you don't know what I'm talking about, you might be more familiar with Round Top, Texas which is basically the same, they are neighboring little towns but both are part of the huge antique show that goes on there.
There are miles and miles of tents and vendors set up with their antiques and hand made crafts and there are smells of kettle corn and BBQ filling the air! If you have never been, you need to make it happen! They have the best furniture, if you are looking for anything for your home and have the widest range of items all mashed together in a way that works.
Even if you don't need anything, I guarantee you will find something that you can't leave without. My mom has a clothing line called Sundara, all made in India, and she has had a booth there for a couple of years. Usually my aunt meets us there too and we have a girl's week and get to help out my mom while we are there.
Beer and mimosas are in hand by noon and live country, gospel, or folk music is playing somewhere at all times. There are famous pies, famous people (I saw Miranda Lambert), and a whole lot of stuff.
It's amazing.
I couldn't resist snapping this handsome boy's pic...his name is Topaz.
This was prom night, you can't tell from this picture, but most of the people are dressed up in tacky dresses where the crazier and tackier it is, the better! People dress up, shop, and dance until midnight!
I kind of bombarded you with a lot of pictures, but believe me I could have shown you about a million more! I have gone for two years now, and still have not seen it all!
If you are looking for something to do in the Spring, head to Round Top and stop by and see me and my mom in Zapp Hall if you do!
Are you a fan of going junkin'? I didn't think I was...turns out I was wrong. It's pretty fun.
