If you follow me on social media at all then you know that last night was our very first Farm to Fork dinner that I collaborated with Maker's Workshop, Country Table Delivery, and Red Onion. This week has been a crazy one and last night made it totally worth it because the night could not have been any better! It was a community gathering where local people came together to donate their time and talents and spent an evening getting to know each other and ate an amazing dinner with all farm fresh and local ingredients!
I kinda fell off of the blogging bandwagon in the process of building our 100 ft wooden table and getting everything prepared for the big night. Lindsey (Maker's Workshop) and I worked from sun up to sun down since Sunday working like a couple of lumber jacks...and we possibly smelt like them too by the end of most days. And it did not leave much time for me to fix you a pretty cocktail or a yummy meal and I apologize for that!
On top of the dinner preparation my parents moved to Georgia this week, so my mom stopped here in Baton Rouge for a couple of nights to break up the trip and I even put her to work stringing lights and folding napkins for the dinner!
Next week I leave for California with Lindsey and our friend Kayla on an eight day road trip from California to Portland, Oregon and I cannot wait to share pics with you along the way! I will be blogging where I can, but I am sure I will be overloading you with gorgeous scenery if I don't have time for anything else! Thanks for understanding my inconsistent posting over the next couple of weeks, November has started out great, but it is jammed packed with travel, but don't worry I have a couple of recipe posts still happening because I don't want you to go hungry or thirsty while I'm away!
I wanted to give a big thanks to all of the people who made the event happen last night:
Follow them on Instagram! @MakersWorkshop @CountryTableDelivery @tinroofbeer @catheadvodka @bayourum @blackbirdletterpress @Iverstinefarms @coveyrisefarms @stringremedy @belikethefox @redonionbr
The night would not have been such a success without this amazing collaboration of local peeps who all wanted to come together as a community to host a night of great food, live music, and gathering together. The hard work was worth it and I can't wait for the next Farm to Fork dinner! Happy Friday y'all!
P.S. If you need me over the weekend, I will probably be asleep so can it wait until Monday?
