I don't know if I told you yet, but we are moving to Florida!
Ok well not in the near future, but someday we are going to move to Florida...by the ocean where life is simple and good.
Canean is going to have a fishing charter and I am going to blog and sunbathe...well that's how I see it in my head anyway. We decided this out last week while we were on our trip. We had THE best time with the best company and amazing surroundings.
One of my best friends lives in Hobe Sound, Florida. A quiet little beach town about thirty minutes from West Palm Beach. We had not seen each other in two years...two years! It is absurd how busy life gets and how much time can pass so quickly in a blink of an eye.
So needless to say, this trip was way overdue for the both of us. It was also the first time our husbands have really ever spent any time together and it turns out they are two peas in a pod themselves. The trip was just perfect and definitely not long enough!
The first day Meg and her husband Mike took us to their favorite watering holes right on the water. We ate oysters and shrimp, drank cocktails, and caught up on life. It was pretty much a perfect day.
After getting our bellies full, we made our way to the other side of the water and found ourselves at another great spot overlooking beautiful boats. We sipped Prosecco and split an amazing stacked eggplant parmesan (which will not be pictured because we ate it too fast.)
That is Meg and Mike...and they are adorable. AND they are expecting a little package to arrive in August! I'm going to call it, the little peach will be the cutest baby ever with the biggest blue eyes...
I'm so happy for them! Meg was a great sport drinking mocktails all weekend, while we drank to our hearts content. She gets wife and friend of the year award.
This was right before we left for the afternoon to head over to the beach for an evening walk. We had to swing by and get their pup, Stella so she could come to the beach too!
Stella found friends right away. Another reason we will be moving to Florida...dog friendly beaches.
Y'all have no idea how much I have missed this girl. And you can see the boys were pretty happy with each other too. It went from goofy to deep talks in a matter of seconds, which you know is a good sign.
It was a great day that we topped off with pizza and wings, PJ's, a movie, and maybe some cookies.
Day two unfortunately Meg and Mike had to work, but luckily the beach is not far away so Canean and I headed out to check out a new beach town called Jupiter. We took sandwiches to the beach, lounged around and then before heading back, hit up another favorite spot of Meg and Mike's for a cocktail.
Um, look at that water. It' gorgeous. I am definitely wishing we were still there. We spent the afternoon scheming of how we can transplant ourselves in Florida while enjoying a little date day, just the two of us. After several hours on the beach, we decided it had to be happy hour and headed to the Square Grouper, a really cool bar right on the water where the fishing boats come in.
Mojitos and screwdrivers for the win!
I had to share this last picture with you because I just thought these trees were beautiful. They line the streets on the way to the beach. They are pretty incredible.
We had an amazing couple of days in Hobe Sound with great friends making pacts to never let this long go again before seeing each other...because it's ridiculous when you think about it not to see each other more. We had sunny skies, good food, and even better friends to share it with. But all good things must come to an end I suppose...
Luckily in this case Miami was waiting for us...part dos of the sunshine state coming to ya soon.
