Take me back. I am not ready to be back in reality yet. I want to be back in Chicago with one of my best girlfriends (Rachel) and be experiencing all that Chicago has to offer. We didn't have enough time. Is there ever enough time on vacation? Not really, so I don't know why I think it would be any different this go around. So here I am doing a little Monday wishing, and thinking about how great of a weekend I just had.
Sometimes us gals just need a weekend away together being silly, eating girlie food (like big juicy hamburgers and fries) and drinking lots of bubbly together. It's good for the soul, to be with your soul sisters. Don't you think?
I'm really lucky to have a husband who encourages my girl time and in return I encourage his guy time, because really it helps to make us better married people. He took care of the dogs and the house, and the only mishap that occurred is that Amos happened to pull down the front door curtain on one side (crazy dog), so I came home to the curtain being hung back up upside down and it looked like someone had thrown it in the window, but hey at least he managed to put it back up there at all! I am sure our neighbors were a little curious as to what that was about.
I am pretty lucky to have such great friends and an amazing husband to share my life with. This weekend was just perfect in all ways including the Sex and the City marathon that we watched 18 episodes of on one rainy day (yep 18 episodes)!
This weekend we were Carrie and Charlotte out on the town shopping, and eating, and drinking, and shopping some more. It was just Chicago and not NYC, and it was perfection.
I can't wait to share the rest the weekend details with you, but for now I'm going to reminisce and wish that I was back in the city on this Monday back in Louisiana (which isn't half bad in itself considering I get to share it with the love of my life and two cute furry boys.)
Feeling blessed...
P.S. Can you spot us in the picture? Let's play where's Waldo..or I guess, Where's Leigh Ann and Rachel?
