Summer is wrapping up quickly and I have to say that on one hand I am kind of sad, and on the other hand (the hand that is tired of sweating everyday) is getting excited for fall. I will miss the fresh melons and peaches, the laid back feel that summer brings with it, and the long days full of sunlight. But I am beyond ready for some cooler weather, my boots, and fall dishes. To make the most of these last summer days, I figured there was no better way than with refreshing and boozy raspberry and lime Rosé sangria popsicles.
These would be great for your Labor Day celebration and will make the heat a little bit more bearable. You will fall in love with popsicles in a whole new way after just a bite. Who doesn't love a frozen, fruity, made from wine treat?
They are so simple to make that there isn't an excuse for you not to make them. And if you aren't a Rosé fan, just swap with your favorite white wine and call it a day. Personally, I have been loving the pink hues and crisp taste of a Rosé this summer.
The flavors are tart, just slightly sweet, and have the perfect kick. I'm obsessed.
You could totally turn the mixture into ice cubes and just make extra sangria so that your drink doesn't get watered down. There are no limits here people, only delicious popsicles that begging to be made and devoured.
The world is your oyster.
Ingredients:
- 1 Bottle Rosé Wine
- 1/4 Cup Brandy
- 1/4 Cup Fresh Lime Juice
- 1/2 Cup Agave Nectar (or you could use sugar)
- 1/2 Cup Fresh Raspberries
- Lime Slices
Directions:
- Mix your wine, brandy, lime juice, and agave nectar in a pitcher or large measuring bowl that has a pour spout on it.
- Inside of your popsicle molds, drop a few raspberries inside along with a thin lime slice.
- Pour sangria mixture to fill each mold.
- Freeze for 30 minutes - 1 hour until you can stick your popsicle sticks in the middle of each mold and they will stay.
- After sticks are in place, freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight. (they will take a little longer to freeze due to the alcohol)
- To release from the molds, run under warm water for a few seconds and the popsicle should come right out.
The only situation I can see occurring here is that you might try to eat all of the popsicles yourself, and what's the harm in that?
Cheers to Thirsty Thursday!
