I'm a dreamer by nature, I have been ever since I was a little girl. And I am a firm believer that if you can dream it, it can happen. I see it time and time again in my own life and in other's lives. If you put it out there in the universe, more times than not, if you really believe it and are determined to make it happen, the dream comes true.
I was recently asked to share my dreams and goals from a company called Kabbage, who specialize in helping people achieve their small business or personal goals. I decided to partner with Kabbage on their Dream Venture Campaign to share my dreams and my hopes with you.
For me, it was somewhat easy to answer the question. I think about it everyday, it's the reason I do what I do and continue to write this blog.
Let's rewind to before I created My Diary of Us. My original goal was to write a book one day. Every time I told my story to someone of how Canean and I came to be, they would tell me I should write a book, every time I cooked something, they said I should start a blog. I never thought much of it, until one day I did. And it was all I could think about. I can't give you all the details, because it happens to still be my dream, and one I plan on making come true and I need to keep some of my secrets, for now.
The blog has been a great outlet to allow me to be creative and to share and I am seeing it grow a little bit each day which is really exciting and it's all the motivation I need to keep pushing forward. I get to share my love story and my food with you and I can do it without being published. However, the more I blog, the more I want to write a book. So that's the dream, write a book, become a NY Times best selling author and blog my little heart out until I'm old and wrinkly.
I'm going to do it by getting better at writing, better at connecting with you, and by being one determined woman. By being persistent, working hard, being myself, and not listening to the people who have forgotten how to dream, I can see my plans of growing the brand My Diary of Us a little more clearly each day that passes.
It might sound crazy to you, and that's okay because it's my dream and I'm the only one who can make it happen. You don't have to understand, you don't even have to believe that I can do it. Because guess what? I believe it.
Over the next five to ten years, I know there is a long road ahead to get to where I want to be, but after those years I fully plan on being on a best seller's shelf in every book store.
Here's the thing about dreams, if you don't believe it, who will?
So here I am...putting it all out there into the universe, determined to make it happen.
