Salsa is one of my favorite condiments and for good reason! I have never really met a salsa I didn’t like, but making salsa homemade is always the best if you ask me. With just a few simple ingredients you can have a batch of homemade salsa ready to go within minutes. My recipe for homemade salsa is one that you will want to keep a batch of in the refrigerator at all times.
I like to use fresh tomatoes, jalapeno, cilantro, onion, and garlic with lots of fresh lime juice. While a lot of salsas are made with fresh ingredients like this, I like to give some of the ingredients a nice char before blending them up, which adds a depth of flavor and takes away that super acidic taste that simply using fresh tomatoes can give. This method does require one extra step, but in my opinion it’s 100% worth it for taste!
Variations of this recipe:
Use canned tomatoes instead of fresh tomatoes.
Use another variety of tomato that you have on hand.
Omit the cilantro if desired.
Swap a jalapeno for a habanero or serrano pepper.
Blend this to a chunky or smoother consistency based on preference.
You can serve this salsa warm or cold and it will be delicious either way! Serve it up with chips, on top of eggs, tacos, burritos, and more. This homemade salsa will last in your refrigerator for up to two weeks, but i highly doubt it will make it that long!
I hope you enjoy making your very own salsa right at home!

4 Cups Tomatoes (I like to use grape or cherry varieties)

Big handful of Cilantro or less if you prefer (about 1/4 Cup)
