What I love about these Healthier Turkey Sloppy Joes:
They are kid and adult friendly!
They can be made with ingredients that you probably have in your pantry and refrigerator.
They are made in one pan, which means easy clean up!
The homemade sauce is so much better for you plus the taste 10 x better than the canned version we grew up on.
You can sneak veggies into the sauce for extra nutrient boosting veggie power.
Variations of this recipe:
Use ground beef or venison instead of turkey if you prefer.
Use water instead of stock if you don’t have any stock on hand.
Use whatever variation of bbq sauce that you love.
Add in extra veggies like zucchini, mushrooms, bell pepper and any other veggies you have on hand that you want to sneak into the sauce,
Make a vegetarian version with tofu and mushrooms.
Serve the sloppy joe mixture in a baked potato or sweet potato instead of a bun if you prefer.
These healthier turkey sloppy joes are nostalgic and are just so darn good. I can’t wait for you to make these for you and your family and watch everyone gobble them right up with no complaints!
