Perfectly cooked ribeye, crispy fries, and a creamy yogurt horseradish sauce create the ultimate steak frites dish. Steak frites is French for “steak and fries” and is the ultimate combination of flavors. Deliciously grilled ribeyes, crispy air fried russet potatoes, and a delicious horseradish sauce really makes for a perfect steak dinner. Who’s hungry? Because I know I am!
What kind of beef can you use?
This one is totally up to you, but I love using a good ribeye that has a good amount of marbling for flavor. You can also use a NY strip or a flank steak as well.
Ways to cook your Steak Frites:
I prefer grilling my steak and using my air fryer for the fries because the cook time is so similar and the air fryer makes the fries extra crispy. However, you can also pan sear your steak if you do not have a grill and bake your fries in the oven if you don’t have an air fryer. If you choose to bake your fries, you will simply start cooking your fries while your steak comes to room temperature so that they will be done cooking around the same time as the steak.
If baking fries, preheat oven to 425 degrees and place onto a parchment lined baking sheet and lay into a single layer. Bake for 30-40 minutes, turning once until golden and crispy.
If pan searing steak, you will want to use a cast iron skillet or grill pan and heat it to high heat. Add steak to the pan and cook for the same amount of time as on the grill.
What temperature should the steak be?
Medium Rare is 130 degrees, Medium is around 140 degrees, and medium well is around 150 degrees.
What other sauce can I use other than the horseradish yogurt sauce?
You can use any sort of aioli that you want here as well as good ole ketchup or steak sauce if you prefer. The horseradish sauce really is so good with the combination of flavors here.

Ingredients:
2, 1.5” -2” Thick Ribeyes
2 Russet Potatoes
2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
1 Tbsp. + 1 Tsp. Kosher Salt
1 Tbsp. Black Pepper
Steak Seasoning
Parsley for garnish
For the Sauce-
1 Cup Greek Yogurt
2 Tbsp. Prepared Horseradish
1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
1 Clove of Garlic, Grated Finely
1 Tsp. Kosher Salt
1 Tsp. Black Pepper
Directions:
Bring steaks to room temperature for 20 minutes.
Season the steaks with 1 tbsp. salt and 1/2 tbsp. pepper on both sides.
Preheat grill to high heat, about 500 degrees.
Cut the potatoes into fries, making sure they are all the same size.
Toss with olive oil, the rest of the salt and pepper, and steak seasoning.
Place steaks onto the hot grill on direct heat and cook for 6-7 minutes on the first side and then flip to cook another 5-6 minutes on the second side until desired doneness.
While steak cooks, place fries into the air fryer and cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping once until fries are golden and crispy. If baking fries, place them into the oven 20 minutes before steaks begin cooking at 425 degrees so that they get done at the same time.
While steak and fries cook, make the horseradish sauce by combining yogurt, horseradish, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper and whisking until combined.
Serve the steak, fries, and sauce together and enjoy!
Does this combination look and sound heavenly? Because it truly is! I can’t wait for you to give these steak frites with a horseradish yogurt sauce a try for yourself!
