It’s the time of year where we start spending more time outdoors with friends and family entertaining and a good cocktail is a must. Moscow mules are one of my favorite cocktails and I love giving them a twist in flavor based upon what produce happens to be in season. Strawberries are the perfect addition to the classic Moscow mule right now especially, as we are entering strawberry season! This cocktail is perfect to whip up for any backyard BBQ or evening drink to sip on the patio. You are going to love making these strawberry Moscow mules all Spring and Summer long.
Traditionally this cocktail is served in a copper mug, which takes on the cold temperature of the drink and also just looks really pretty too. You of course can serve it in any glass if you don’t have the copper mugs, but I say go ahead and buy yourself a couple of mugs because they are nice to have on hand for cocktails like this.
I simply muddle some fresh strawberries with lime juice and fresh mint leaves until all of the juices from the berries have been released and then shake in a cocktail shaker with ice and vodka. Strain that liquid over ice and then top off with ginger beer and you have yourself a delicious and easy cocktail! This strawberry Moscow mule is perfect to use up any berries that have become too ripe to eat as is, and will only make your drink sweeter!
I actually like using Fever Tree Light Ginger Beer here for less sugar, but really any ginger beer will work perfectly. This drink is fizzy, refreshing, and just the perfect drink for all season long. I can’t wait for you to make up a batch for yourself! Cheers!
