If you have ever been intimidated to make your own ribs at home, I am here to tell you that you don’t have to be anymore! I have a no fail recipe that creates tender, fall off of the bone ribs every single time and anyone can do it right at home! I use a duo cook method of the oven and the grill to speed up the process and ensure that the ribs stay tender and never end up dry or tough. This recipe for easy and delicious homemade ribs will have everyone raving about this recipe at your next BBQ.
I mean sure you could spend hours outside smoking and grilling your ribs from start to finish, but most of the time I find people either don’t have the equipment or the time to do that. My method is easy enough for anyone to do, even if you are a beginner cook. I rub my ribs down with my favorite dry rib rub the night before or morning of and let them sit uncovered in the fridge until I am ready to cook. Then I simply wrap them in foil and place into the oven on 325 for one and a half to two hours until they are starting to get super tender, but not falling off the bone. When the time in the oven is up, I transfer them to the grill on direct heat to get that char on the ribs that makes them taste like they were never in an oven in the first place. I slather them with BBQ sauce and let the sauce get nice and sticky and the result is truly some of the best ribs I’ve had!
If you don’t have a grill, don’t worry you can still make these! Simply take the foil off at the hour and half mark and switch the oven to broil. Brush the ribs with BBQ sauce and broil on both sides for a few minutes until the ribs are nice and caramelized. You won’t get the same taste as the grill, but they will be delicious either way.
I can’t wait for you to give these ribs a try for yourself. These easy and delicious homemade ribs would be just perfect for the upcoming holiday weekend!
Side dishes that pair nicely with these ribs:
Garlic Dill Tomato Salad with Cornbread Croutons
Ingredients:
2 Racks St. Louis Style or Baby Back Ribs
The Best Homemade BBQ Sauce or Favorite Store bought sauce.
Directions:
Rub ribs with dry rub thoroughly coating all sides.
Let sit for at least 4 hours or up to overnight if time allows.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Cover ribs with aluminum foil and bake for 1 1/2 - 2 hours until ribs are tender, but not quite falling off the bone. (We don’t want them falling apart on the grill.)
Make BBQ sauce if making homemade at this time.
Preheat grill to 400 degrees.
Take ribs from the oven and uncover.
Place the ribs directly onto preheated grill and grill for 5-10 minutes per side to char them up and give them a “been on the grill all day” flavor.
Brush with BBQ sauce the last couple of minutes of cooking on each side to get the sauce sticky and caramelized.
Remove from heat and add more bbq sauce if desired.
Slice in between the bones and serve immediately.
How good do these look? I promise they taste just as good too!
