My hubby is addicted it açaí bowls. Every Friday he takes our son to a local cafe and they share one together! Although I have been putting açaí packets in my smoothies for a while now, until we went to Hawaii I had never actually had an açaí bowl! (I loved it obviously!) They were so fresh and delicious, the perfect way to start our day! I knew I wanted to start making them at home because they are much more cost effective this way, and now we can have them whenever we want! I created a recipe for easy loaded açaí bowls that anyone can do right in their own kitchen!
Açaí berries are loaded with antioxidants, have healthy fats, and fiber making them ideal for smoothie bowls! They are the perfect summer breakfast or post-workout snack, especially when it's warm outside! These bowls are so refreshing and you can top them with any of your favorite fruits, nuts, coconut, hemp or chia seeds, and anything else you want to throw in there for texture and flavor!
It used to be harder to find frozen açaí, but I have been seeing them in the frozen fruit section of regular grocery stores lately! So if you haven't looked before, I bet your neighborhood grocery has them! (If not, Trader Joe's definitely carries the unsweetened packs!)
What better way to kickstart a new week than with a bowl full of the good stuff to fuel your body and give it the nutrients it needs to power through your work day?
Try swapping out your everyday smoothie with one of my easy loaded açaí bowls and see just how tasty they can be! They are so vibrant and beautiful too, basically screaming "I am good for you"! I love seeing color on my plate, and these bowls are full of it!
