A good BBQ sauce is a must for any sort of grilling situation, and while it’s super easy to pick up your favorite brand at the store, it’s just as easy to make your own. Not to mention, you probably already have all of the ingredients on hand! I love making a batch of this BBQ sauce to keep on hand for chicken, ribs, burgers, and more! This recipe for the best homemade bbq sauce is going to have you wondering why you haven’t been making your own sauce all along.
Fried chicken is one of those things that I get a hankering for from time to time and I happen to love it on a crisp salad! There is something about a crisp salad topped with warm crunchy fried chicken that is just the best of combos. Most of the time I tend to bake my “fried chicken” for a healthier version, but every now and then I just have to fry it just like all of the southern women in my family before me. This recipe for Southern fried chicken, spinach, and berry salad with a yogurt chive dressing is going to become your favorite summer salad I can guarantee it!

I for one cannot get enough of summer fruit right now, especially peaches, and love using them in savory recipes as well. I partnered with my friends at Tony Chachere’s to bring you a summer recipe that is great for entertaining, but simple enough for any night of the week. When it’s too hot to turn on the oven, I rely on my grill to do the heavy lifting. That’s why I created this recipe for grilled Sweet Heat Pork and Peach Kabobs using Tony Chachere’s Pork Marinade. The flavors pair perfectly together and you are going to love grilling up these kabobs all summer long.
Y’all! It’s finally here! I am so excited to get to share with you the full kitchen remodel. My favorite place to be is in the kitchen and it feels like a dream to get to have this one as my own. It’s where all of the recipe testing, photography, filming, and magic happens for My Diary of Us and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. A few months of chaos, cooking on a single burner in my foyer, and washing dishes in my powder room was totally worth it to get my dream kitchen! This kitchen is where Parks will grow up learning to cook, love food like his mama, and where our family will make the most memories. The kitchen is the heart of the home, and I am completely in love with this one!
Summer is in full swing and so is the heat! That means I am all about an easy meal that I barely have to cook. Ceviche is one of those dishes that I tend to make in the summer more often than not because it just begs to be eaten on a warm afternoon with a cold beer outside on a patio, or if you are lucky, maybe on the beach! There are all sorts of ceviche varieties, but we love this shrimp ceviche because we always have access to fresh wild caught shrimp since we are close to the Gulf. This recipe for easy shrimp ceviche is a great one to try if you have never made your own at home, and I just know you are going to love it as much as we do.
